New 700 HD Series Video Recorders

The new 700 HD Series Hybrid and Network Recorders support real-time recording at resolutions up to 1080p, are easy to install and manage, and provide a low cost of ownership.

For simple set up that is 50% faster than traditional PC-based video recording solutions, the Divar 700 HD Series recorders feature fully-automated device discovery and assignment, built-in wizards, and an embedded design. Customers can also manage IP camera profiles and features, such as motion detection, within the recorders themselves, eliminating the need for configuration through a PC.

Support for the free Bosch Video Client software enables centralized control of the 700 Series HD across up to 3,000 sites. Display live and recorded standard or high definition video as full-screen or simultaneously in multi-screen displays from any location via a local or wide area network or the Internet. With a built-in web application, you can also view video from the recorders using a web browser for added flexibility.

The 700 Series uses H.264 compression for reduced storage requirements—lowering the cost of ownership of the recorders while maintaining maximum detail in video images. The internal hard disks, with available RAID-4 technology, assure maximum protection of recorded video and deliver uninterrupted system reliability even in the event of a drive failure. The drives are accessible from the front of the unit for easier servicing and for adding larger-capacity disks when needed.

Text data can be integrated with video recorded by the 700 Series, which is useful with license plate recognition systems for parking lot management and in stolen vehicle searches. Text support can also help reduce shrinkage and detect fraud through remote monitoring capabilities for ATM or point-of-sale transactions.

The 700 HD Series Hybrid Recorder is designed for applications using a mix of analog and IP cameras. A powerful and scalable video management solution, it supports up to 16 analog cameras and 16 IP cameras, including high definition and standard definition devices.

For dedicated IP video applications, the 700 HD Series Network Recorder is an all-in-one IP video management solution containing everything to store and manage surveillance video in a single, easy-to-install box. This Network Recorder supports up to 32 high definition or standard definition IP cameras.

The 700 HD Series Hybrid and Network Recorders are ideal for applications requiring a high level of detail in surveillance images, including retail, banking, corrections, and transportation and commercial buildings.

Rock in Rio - Security for the Music Marathon

The global security service provider Prosegur chose Bosch to supply surveillance technology for the world’s largest music and entertainment festival: Rock in Rio. When big names like Coldplay, Guns N’ Roses or the Red Hot Chili Peppers enter the stage in September and October this year, they draw the attention of more than 700,000 fans. Hence it is no question, that safety and security must be a number one priority.

The security plan tailored specifically for this festival includes a total of 30 surveillance cameras and a team of approximately 500 specifically trained security guards. The heart of the system will be the Advanced Security Center of Prosegur (CASE), placed at a strategic location and manned by a coordinator and two operators. From this unit, the entire ‘Cidade do Rock‘ (City of Rock) will be monitored, which spans an area of about 150,000 square meters. The Bosch Video Management System (BVMS) software manages all digital audio and video systems, as well as all security data, which will be transmitted over an IP network.

One of the main items Bosch provided is the MIC Series 412 Thermal PTZ camera, which combines two capture modes – thermal and conventional. The first enables the thermal capture of people based on temperature at a distance of more than 780 meters, illuminating the hot or cold points of individuals in a scene. The second enables conventional capture for surveillance at four levels: detection, classification, recognition and identification of individuals.

In addition, the MIC Series 400 PTZ camera with integrated infrared delivers night vision at up to 55 meters, which provides extremely sharp images, regardless of light conditions. This model is ideal for surveillance in vulnerable areas both day and night, even in total darkness.

Intelligent Video Analysis will be integrated into some cameras to automatically detect suspicious situations and notify security teams, assisting the work of the operators in the monitoring center.

This large scale project shows how security personnel and technology can combine to guarantee the utmost safety and security. Bosch and Prosegur have teamed up to assure that the ‘Cariocas’, Rio’s inhabitants, as well as tourists from all over the world can relax and enjoy the music marathon.
