Security Solution for Apartment Project in Vietnam

With 750 modern apartments spread over five 28-story buildings, Vietnam’s first luxury residential project, the Vista in Ho Chi Minh City, is the result of investments totaling $200 million. The developers turned to Bosch when it came to ensuring the safety of the occupants and facilities. The latter includes 35,000 square meters of retail space, a 50-meter pool and a modern clubhouse boasting a steam bath, spa and sauna, a gymnasium, putting green and a tennis court.

At the Vista, Bosch surveillance cameras are in operation to detect movement and so protect people and property. An audible alarm warns of intruders entering a restricted area, and the sound is loud enough to be heard over a large distance. In addition, the integrated public address system informs the relevant occupants that an unauthorized person may be in the area. The alarm thus serves a two-fold purpose: it announces when a zone is in danger and can further help in capturing the intruder.

To facilitate round-the-clock surveillance throughout the complex, 56 vandal-resistant IR dome cameras, three AutoDome Series day/night PTZ cameras, and 15 of the LTC Series cameras are installed. These are backed by the latest high-resolution, high-performance LCD monitors from the UML range, coupled with seven digital video recorders. Alongside this video system, no fewer than 800 LHM and general-purpose ceiling loudspeakers were integrated to allow for clear emergency messaging and public address announcements. Finally, more than 200 of the highly-efficient LBC horn loudspeakers were installed, as these provide excellent speech reproduction and sound distribution for a number of outdoor applications.

Integration of MIC Series cameras with MG Squared's Lowering System

MIC Series 550 high-speed PTZ cameras have been successfully integrated with MG Squared’s Lowering System—a device used frequently in intelligent transportation system and secure perimeter installations. The combination makes it even easier and safer to install and maintain pole-mounted MIC Series 550 cameras in these settings.

MIC Series cameras provide 550 TVL resolution with 36x or 28x optical zoom for sharp images even at great distances. The flat window with a long-life silicone wiper and optional washer system enables you to capture images that are free from distortion in dry and wet conditions.

Built to survive harsh environments, MIC Series cameras feature an IP 68/NEMA 6P-rated housing to ensure complete protection against dust and water ingress without the need for pressurization. And, for reliable operation in tough roadway applications, the cameras can withstand 130 mile per hour sustained winds and gusts up to 180 miles per hour, as well as shock and vibration up to 20g and 2.0g respectively.

With a Lowering System from MG Squared, MIC Series camera installation and maintenance can be performed on the ground by one technician, eliminating the need for bucket trucks, cone crews or lane closures. This provides tremendous cost savings as well as a more efficient and safer work process. It also frees design engineers from previous limitations on mounting heights, since pole and camera locations are no longer determined by where or how high a bucket truck can reach.

Intelligent Tracking for AutoDome 700 Series IP Cameras

The new Intelligent Tracking feature for AutoDome 700 Series IP PTZ cameras is now available with firmware 5.51. Intelligent Tracking uses AutoDome’s built-in Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA) to constantly monitor scenes for motion and automatically track objects moving within the camera range.

AutoDome cameras equipped with Intelligent Tracking present a major asset to overall surveillance, supporting security personnel with a powerful automated monitoring system to ensure targets’ activities are not missed. With this feature, you can use IVA from Bosch to stipulate tasks or conditions that will instantly activate tracking. For example, the camera can be programmed to follow vehicles that move through an area in a specific direction. You can also trigger tracking of objects by clicking on a moving target within live video to prompt the camera to keep it in a scene with pan, tilt or zoom actions.

Using an advanced algorithm, the AutoDome 700 series IP dome with Intelligent Tracking outperforms other moving cameras, as it will resume tracking a target after it passes behind a privacy mask or if it is temporarily concealed by a stationary object. AutoDome continuously tracks the target when it reappears or if motion is detected along the same trajectory.

AutoDome 700 series IP cameras provide 360-degree continuous rotation, 28x or 36x optical zoom and progressive scan digital imaging for sharp video even when moving objects are present. The cameras also feature a rugged, tamper-resistant aluminum housing that is rated to IP 66 for uncompromised functionality even in dusty and wet environments.

New cameras for the Advantage Line

We're launching seven new cameras, including IP and analog models, for the Advantage Line.

Several of the new cameras are designed as ready-to-use, complete network video surveillance systems inside MicroDomes. The Bosch NDC-274-P Indoor MicroDome camera offers 2 MP / HD 1080p resolution and multi-streaming capabilities in a compact dome. The soon-to-be-released NDC-284-PT and NDC-274-PT MicroDome cameras are the first vandal-resistant, outdoor-rated IP domes in the Advantage Line. The NDC-284-PT is a 5 MP camera, and the NDC-274-PT will deliver 2 MP / HD 1080p resolution.

Two infrared cameras also join the lineup: the NDN-265-PIO 1 MP / HD 720p infrared IP dome camera and the NTC-265-PI 1 MP / HD 720p infrared IP bullet camera. Both are ready-to-use, robust network cameras that offer 1 MP / HD 720p resolution, day/night functionality with a removable IR cut filter, and an IP 66 rating for outdoor use.

For the analog market, the VDN-276 and VDN-295 indoor domes are compact, stylish surveillance cameras that offer ultra-high resolution images with 650 TVL and the latest 960H 1/3-inch CCD sensor technology. The VDN-295 also features true wide dynamic range for excellent performance in variable lighting conditions.

Specifically designed for applications like small shops, office buildings, schools or gas stations, the Advantage Line was first introduced in mid-2011. All products in the line feature high performance and reliability and are easy to install, maintain and operate. Combined with just the right amount of features, this ensures that both time and costs are kept to a minimum.

Advantage Line IP cameras come in a range of options–as compact cameras or discreet domes for indoor or outdoor surveillance. You can choose between standard resolution, HD, megapixel or integrated IR models. Analog cameras from the Advantage Line can also be ordered as indoor or outdoor fixed and PTZ mini domes, as subtle mini-bullet cameras or as integrated infrared domes and bullet cameras. We will continue to expand the Advantage Line, with the next additions planned for fall 2012.
