Partnership with OnSSI Delivers More Integration Possibilities

The strategic partnership between Bosch and OnSSI is driving greater integration capabilities between our IP video devices and the Ocularis IP video surveillance and security platform. As a result, Ocularis v3.6 now supports edge recording and new high definition cameras from Bosch.
“Mutual customers will benefit from our unique camera technology that dynamically tunes image processing to deliver the best video quality while also lowering bandwidth and storage requirements,” said Rudolf Spielberger, Head of the Integration Partner Program at Bosch. “Combining this advanced level of image detail with the event fusion capabilities of the Ocularis platform enables end users to more easily validate alerts and more efficiently handle security risks.”
Powerful video management
As an integrated video and event management platform, Ocularis' workflow provides a collaborative environment in which video and alerts from across an organization are converted into meaningful events for shared handling. The platform can scale from single site installations up to multi-site applications with an unlimited number of cameras. Ocularis offers scalability without penalty; with more devices, the per camera cost decreases.

Reliable performance
Ocularis v3.6 now supports the on-board storage capabilities of Bosch IP cameras. This can ensure uninterrupted video recording in the event of a network or server failure. For additional protection of video data, the Ocularis system can also communicate independent of the server after devices have been authenticated. This provides continued access to video streams even in the event of a server outage.

Reduced bandwidth requirements
With the addition of the latest HD cameras from Bosch, mutual customers can take advantage of intelligent Dynamic Noise Reduction technology, which actively analyzes the contents of a scene to reduce bandwidth and storage requirements. Combining this unparalleled technology with solutions from OnSSI, such as the Ocularis Media Server, provides greater flexibility for viewing detailed, high resolution video even over low-speed connections.
“Strategic partnerships between best-in-breed technology manufacturers like Bosch and OnSSI continue to improve the security offerings available to users,” said Ken LaMarca, VP of Sales, OnSSI. “The capabilities of Ocularis leverage the excellent image quality and storage capabilities of the Bosch IP cameras, to the benefit of our customers.”
“Customers will gain even more value in the future as Bosch and OnSSI further the partnership with ongoing technical collaboration,” continued Spielberger.
Additional Bosch features currently supported by the Ocularis platform include tamper and motion detection, multi-streaming and H.264 compression.

Streaming Networks partnership to significantly expand license plate recognition integration capabilities

Our new partnership with Streaming Networks will deliver integrated license plate recognition functionality within the Video Management System (VMS) v4.5.

Streaming Networks’ iRecord License Plate LPR-100 reads retro-reflective license plates found in the U.S. and Canada. It is powered by the company’s optical character recognition (OCR) engine, allowing it to accurately read plates even when they are improperly aligned, partially hidden by plate frames or have vertically stacked characters. When paired with our license plate capture cameras—such as the DINION capture product family—the system delivers consistent, high-quality images of vehicle license plates even in low-light conditions or when headlight or sun glare are present.
“Streaming Networks optical character recognition is focused on assisting customers in tackling real-world security and surveillance issues, such as reading license plates under challenging conditions. We are excited to partner with Bosch to deliver this cutting-edge OCR solution to global customers,” says Ayub Khan, CEO Streaming Networks, Santa Clara, CA.
You can now view the iRecord License Plate LPR-100 device page in the main VMS window, as just another local edge storage device. This integration makes it easier to access license plate data, which can help to enhance security around perimeters, improve parking management and toll collection and assist with other similar needs.
“The open availability of our integration tools enables partners to leverage our products to create unique solutions that meet a specific market need,” said Brad Eck, Integration Manager, North America, Bosch Security Systems, Inc., “We look forward to furthering the partnership with Streaming Networks to provide our mutual customers with greater capabilities for gathering vehicle information that can help mitigate risk and improve overall security.”
With our VMS, operators know instantly what is happening in the entire organization. It reduces the complexity of video management, allowing personnel to operate more efficiently and effectively. It can support configurations ranging from a single standalone system to multi-site large-scale enterprise applications with an unlimited number of cameras.

New 960H Video Products

We're launching a new portfolio of 960H products that capture more pixels per target object for a maximum sensor resolution of 720 TVL – the highest available for the PAL and NTSC standard. With cameras, lenses, digital video recorders and monitors, we're providing a complete end-to-end 960H surveillance solution for every analog application. The portfolio includes affordable products for smaller applications as well as higher-performing systems to meet a range of budget and imaging requirements.

960H image sensors serve as the bridge between standard resolution and high definition solutions. Ideal for capturing fine scene details, they are capable of producing video images with 30 percent higher resolution than previous generation analog sensors. Customers can choose a complete 960H solution from Bosch or integrate the products into existing systems to capture greater detail.
“There is an enormous amount of analog video infrastructure throughout the world, and new systems continue to be installed every day,” said Tom Verest, product manager, Bosch Security Systems. “With a full portfolio of 960H products, we’re enabling current customers to easily enhance their systems, while giving new customers the best in analog image quality.”
Cameras in the 960H portfolio include new DINION 4000 AN and DINION 5000 AN and FLEXIDOME 5000 AN models that deliver the best analog image quality and popular features, such as Bilinx technology for verifying camera status, changing settings and performing other functions over the video cable.
