DINION IP ultra 8000 MP Camera Captures Images in 4K ultra HD Resolution

With the launch of the DINION IP ultra 8000 MP camera featuring the latest 4K ultra HD technology, we're changing the game when it comes to wide-angle yet detailed surveillance. This new camera simultaneously supports a wide-angle overview and multiple focus points on a single screen to focus on details without losing the bigger picture. Its 12 MP or 4K ultra HD resolution allows any given subject to be viewed in detail unknown until now even when zoomed-in. As a result, the DINION IP ultra 8000 MP offers the decisive clarity needed for collecting relevant evidence for highly detailed and effective retrospective analysis. Now, it is easy to keep an eye on the crowd, for example in a stadium, and provide enough detail to identify individual people.

Wide-angle overview and detailed focus with perfect exposure every time
Capturing 12 MP images at 20 frames per second and 4K ultra HD images at 30 frames per second, the DINION IP ultra 8000 MP camera easily captures fast-moving objects in high detail. Multiple regions of interest (ROI) in combination with intelligent ROI tracking helps to focus on relevant details without losing the bigger picture, while enabling tracking of objects of interest in the wide-angle scene. Possible disturbances caused by changing front or backlight are eliminated by our unique built-in intelligence. The intelligent Auto Exposure (IAE) technology dynamically adjusts the exposure of the camera to automatically adapt to changing light conditions, providing perfect exposure of objects of interest every time of day. The IAE technology also contributes to the outstanding dynamic range of the camera which boasts a massive 92+16 dB, totaling 108 dB, for the 4K ultra HD mode.

Detailed and effective retrospective analysis
Another differentiating feature of the DINION IP ultra 8000 MP is built-in Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA). The camera’s ability to capture images in 12 MP or 4K ultra HD resolution combined with IVA offers an ideal solution for highly detailed and effective retrospective analysis. IVA helps to focus on relevant situations by alerting you when needed, or automatically tracking objects of interest. It also adds sense and structure to video data by adding metadata already in the camera. This allows the quick retrieval of relevant images from hours of stored video. Metadata, together with the highly detailed images, make the difference when collecting irrefutable forensic evidence or when optimizing business processes based on, for example, people counting or crowd density information.

Lower storage costs and network strain
To reduce storage costs and network strain the camera features Intelligent Dynamic Noise Reduction (IDNR). When there is little or no movement in the scene, less bitrate is required. Therefore, IDNR actively analyses the scene distinguishing between relevant information, such as moving objects and image noise artifacts. The degree of noise reduction is adjusted accordingly so that important objects are captured and image noise artifacts suppressed, optimizing the camera’s bitrate. Thus, IDNR saves up to 50% on bitrate and hence storage and network strain without compromising video quality. Local storage on the camera enhances system reliability by compensating for short network outages, ensuring that video data is continuously available in systems with Video Recording Manager technology without breaks.

Bosch IP standard-definition and high-definition cameras, encoders and analytics work seamlessly with a wide range of security software and recording solutions from Bosch and many other industry providers. This is backed by ONVIF conformance (Open Network Video Interface Forum) and the Integration Partner Program (IPP), which gives developers immediate access to software development tools to easily integrate Bosch products with third-party systems. Further details of the Bosch Integration Partner Program are available at ipp.boschsecurity.com.

Security Update: Shellshock or Bash Bug vulnerability does not affect the majority of Bosch Security Systems products*

A new vulnerability has been found that potentially affects versions of the Linux and Unix operating systems, in addition to Mac OS X, which is based around Unix. It is known as the Shellshock or Bash Bug.

Are systems from Bosch vulnerable to Shellshock?
The majority of Bosch systems are not impacted by Shellshock. Many Bosch products do not use Linux or Unix as an operating system. For products that do utilize Linux, Bosch uses Busybox with the Ash or Almquist shell, which is not vulnerable to Shellshock.

For Access Easy Controller (AEC), Bosch will soon release v2.1.9.0 v2, which will address this vulnerability.

What is Shellshock or Bash Bug?
Shellshock or Bash Bug vulnerabilities affect Bash, a component known as a shell that appears in versions of Linux and Unix. Bash is used to execute command lines and command scripts. It can be used to run commands passed to it by applications, and it is this feature that is affected by the vulnerability.

What does Shellshock or Bash Bug do?
Attackers could cause vulnerable versions of Bash to execute arbitrary commands and allow the attacker to steal data from a compromised system, gain unauthorized access to a system and potentially provide the attacker with access to other computers on the affected network.

Safety Dynamics Integrates with Bosch HD Cameras for Critical Infrastructure and Public Safety Protection

Safety Dynamics, Inc. has integrated the AUTODOME IP 7000 HD and MIC IP 7000 HD PTZ camera families with its SENTRI Gunshot Detection and Localization platform to address threats presented by active shooter events and sniper attacks on critical infrastructure.

The SENTRI system recognizes gunshots and explosions and sends range and bearing details to the MIC IP 7000 HD and AUTODOME IP 7000 HD cameras, which can then locate the source of the event. The solution provides police with the ability to use audio and video for the identification of crimes in progress.
“By combining the advanced analytics of the SENTRI System with quality Bosch HD video, the results are very high detection rates, very low nuisance alarm rates and the most cost-efficient threat detection system available on the market, particularly for the nuclear, electricity, and oil and gas industries,” says Dave Lafferty, President, Scientific Technical Services, and former Technical Advisor, Chief Technology Office, BP.
AUTODOME IP 7000 HD and MIC IP 7000 HD PTZ cameras offer 720p resolution with starlight technology to deliver high definition video images in extreme low light situations, or provide 1080p resolution with wide dynamic range for maximum detail in areas with both bright and dark lighting conditions. This ensures that objects of interest can be easily identified in challenging lighting conditions.

PTZ cameras have typically lacked the speed needed to keep pace with SENTRI detection and localization of gunfire, particularly in rapid-fire scenarios.
“In terms of response times related to localizing an event source, Safety Dynamics’ tests have shown that AUTODOME IP 7000 HD and MIC IP 7000 HD  are up to the challenge,” says Lloyd Uliana, Business Development Engineer for Bosch. “Additionally, the shock and vibration as well as impact resistance ratings make the MIC IP 7000 HD cameras ideal for harsh outdoor environments, for use on mobile command centers, at public events, and for fixed deployments in urban centers.”
“The integration of SENTRI with AUTODOME IP 7000 HD and MIC IP 7000 HD creates the first critical infrastructure-specific cameras directly controlled by a gunshot, audio anomaly event or perimeter breach alert, providing first responders with immediate situational awareness, tactical warning and decision support,” says Sally Fernandez, President, Safety Dynamics, Inc. “High definition video images, image acquisition speed, detection speed, and accuracy of localization deliver to law enforcement actionable intelligence that speeds up their response time in active shooter scenarios.”

MIC Camera on Display at World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems

At the 2014 World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems, MG Squared will demonstrate the integration of its Lowering System with the MIC IP 7000 HD high-speed PTZ cameras. MG Squared’s Lowering System is a device used frequently in intelligent transportation system (ITS) and secure perimeter installations. The device makes it even easier and safer to install and maintain pole-mounted MIC IP 7000 HD cameras in any location, regardless of height.

With a Lowering System from MG Squared, MIC camera installation and maintenance can be performed on the ground by one technician, eliminating the need for bucket trucks, cone crews or lane closures. This provides tremendous cost savings as well as a more efficient and safer work process. It also frees design engineers from previous limitations on mounting heights, since pole and camera locations are no longer determined by where or how high a bucket truck can reach.
“The combination of MIC cameras and Lowering Systems from MG Squared delivers added flexibility for customers to maintain and service the MIC throughout its long lifespan. We expect nine years of operation from this camera, and MG Squared helps customers take full advantage of this; significantly reducing the total cost of ownership for traffic operations and transportation authorities alike,” said Zareh Megerdoonian, Business Development Manager - ITS, for Bosch. “With the release of the new MIC IP 7000 HD cameras, Bosch now delivers industry-leading HD imaging to the market with a solution that can operate in brutal environments and extreme lighting conditions, while providing the added ease of Power over Ethernet (PoE) installation.”
The new MIC IP starlight 7000 HD delivers images in extreme low light situations and captures moving objects in 720p HD resolution at up to 60 frames per second. It provides video images where others fail, even down to 0.01 lux, and captures clear images in color down to 0.05 lux – when others switch to monochrome – to reveal accurate color details that support in vehicle identification. The MIC IP dynamic 7000 HD offers 1080p resolution and captures multiple exposures of the same scene for maximum detail in areas with both bright and dark lighting conditions, such as in tunnels or under highway overpasses. Wide dynamic range and intelligent backlight compensation ensure that moving objects are enhanced and can be easily identified.

The entire MIC family of cameras provides reliable surveillance in the most difficult outdoor locations, combining high-quality HD imaging with an IP68/NEMA 6P-rated IP architecture. The cameras withstand a wide range of conditions – from -76 to +140 degrees Fahrenheit with up to 100 percent humidity, as well as rain and snow, high wind gusts and significant vibration.

Likewise, the MG Squared Lowering Device has been proven to perform in the harshest conditions in installations throughout North America, Central America, Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Australia. MG Squared believes the successful integration of its system with the MIC cameras will be an added benefit to ITS and high-security applications for years to come.

For more information about MIC IP 7000 HD cameras, visit www.boschsecurity.us. For more information on the Lowering System from MG Squared, visit www.loweringsystems.com.

MIC IP dynamic 7000 HD on display at 2014 Power Grid Resilience Summit

At the 2014 Power Grid Resilience Summit, September 8-10 in San Francisco, Security consultancy, The Security Oracle, Inc. (TSO), will display a MIC IP dynamic 7000 HD ruggedized PTZ camera from Bosch as a part of a suite of technology that comprises its Remote Control Active Denial System (RCADS).
In June 2014, TSO presented this scalable, turnkey Non-Lethal Threat-Based Systems Approach to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and Edison Electric Institute (EEI) in Washington, DC.  “RCADS is a force-multiplying system that enables grid-connected owners and operators to effectively and affordably comply with NERC CIP 014,” says Charles Butler, CPP, CEO, TSO, Inc., and former EEI Security Committee Member. “This Threat-Based Systems Approach transforms current passive grid security into an affordable active denial physical protection system that will ‘Protect Against Attacks’ as required.”
When a threat is detected, RCADS can be used to remotely intercept and overpower an adversary from the safety of a security operations center prior to any significant damage occurring to site infrastructure. As a result, local law enforcement or security forces will have far more time to respond and successfully interdict the adversary.
“The MIC IP dynamic 7000 HD ruggedized PTZ was specifically selected due to its exceptionally quick and pin-point accurate slew-to-cue and long range visual target acquisition capabilities,” said Lloyd Uliana, Business Development Engineer for Bosch. “Its extensive use in extreme operational environments, its integration with Safety Dynamics, Inc.’s SENTRI Gunshot Detection and Localization Platform, and its pending cryptographically-secure mechanisms that meet Federal cybersecurity mandates ensure that the MIC IP dynamic 7000 HD is the ideal imaging platform for the protection of critical infrastructure in high risk environments.”

MIC Family Goes HD

The new MIC IP 7000 HD family delivers the highest quality of IP video surveillance images everywhere, even in areas with extreme conditions like roads or highways, transportation facilities, city surveillance and critical infrastructure sites. The cameras combine high-quality HD imaging with an IP68/NEMA 6P-rated IP architecture for the ability to withstand a wide range of harsh conditions – from -60 to +60 degrees Celsius with up to 100 percent humidity, as well as rain and snow, high wind gusts and significant vibration.

The new MIC IP starlight 7000 HD camera delivers HD video images in extreme low light situations and captures moving objects in 720p resolution at up to 60 frames per second. It delivers video images where others fail, even down to 0.01 lux. Clear HD images are captured in color down to 0.05 lux – when others switch to monochrome – to reveal accurate color details that support in security event identification. Its ability to capture fast moving objects and excellent performance in extreme low light situations make the MIC IP starlight 7000 HD ideal for securing, for example, areas along highways.

The MIC IP dynamic 7000 HD offers 1080p resolution and captures multiple exposures of the same scene to provide maximum detail in areas with both bright and dark lighting conditions. The wide dynamic range and intelligent backlight compensation ensure that moving objects or specific objects of interest are enhanced and can be easily identified in scenes with simultaneously bright and dark areas, which typically challenge standard cameras.

Both cameras also feature intelligent de-fog technology to dynamically adjust camera contrast settings to deliver the best quality in scenes affected by fog, smog, mist or other low contrast scenes.

Detection of objects of interest in complete darkness is ensured by the optional MIC illuminators. These illuminators consist of both IR and white light LEDs, and you can switch between the two light sources with a single click. This enables detection of objects up to a distance of 175 meters.

Intelligent Video Analysis
Built-in Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA) helps to focus on relevant situations by alerting you when needed, or automatically tracking objects of interest. IVA also adds sense and structure to video data by adding metadata . This allows the quick retrieval of relevant images from hours of stored video. Metadata can also be used to optimize business processes based on, for example, people counting or crowd density information. By using the camera’s ability to simultaneously combine 8 of the 15 available IVA rules, complex tasks are made easy and false alarms are reduced to a minimum. Among other uses, IVA can assist in monitoring unmanned stations or pipelines where people are not expected during normal operations.

In addition, intelligent Tracking (iTracking) automatically tracks moving objects based on predefined alarm rules or a simple click. Optimal capture of the object of interest is assured by dynamically adjusting the field of view. With intelligent tracking, it becomes easier never to lose track of objects of interest.

24/7 remote access and camera control
Limited bandwidth makes it impossible to stream HD video on mobile devices whereas Dynamic Transcoding delivers both smooth live video streaming and instant access to HD (1080p) images when needed, regardless of available bandwidth. Combined with the Video Security app, you can access camera controls, live video streams and HD images via a mobile device anytime and from anywhere. The new MIC IP 7000 HD family is fully supported by Dynamic Transcoding in combination with either one of the Bosch DIVAR IP recording solutions or a Bosch VIDEOJET transcoder.

Lower storage costs and network strain
To reduce storage costs and network strain the MIC IP starlight 7000 HD and MIC IP dynamic 7000 HD cameras feature intelligent Dynamic Noise Reduction (iDNR). When there is little or no movement in the scene, less bitrate is required. Therefore, iDNR actively analyses the scene, distinguishing between relevant information such as moving objects and image noise artefacts. The degree of noise reduction is adjusted accordingly so that important objects are captured and image noise artefacts suppressed, optimizing the camera’s bitrates. Thus, iDNR saves up to 50% on bitrates and hence storage and network strain without compromising video quality.

Dependable operation and easy installation
Using the VIDEOJET connect 7000 with MIC and other Bosch IP cameras provides high Power over Ethernet support and added flexibility in network configuration and remote video access. Its built-in network switch supports connections to multiple IP cameras, which makes it an ideal configuration for installations along perimeters or highways. Smooth live video streaming and instant access to HD (1080p) images within limited bandwidth connections and full access and control of HD video images from anywhere at any time is made possible through its built-in transcoder, which supports the Dynamic Transcoding technology.

Bosch IP standard-definition and high-definition cameras, encoders and analytics work seamlessly with a wide range of security software and recording solutions from Bosch and many other industry providers. This is backed by ONVIF conformance and the Integration Partner Program (IPP), which gives developers immediate access to software development tools to easily integrate Bosch products with third-party systems. Ocularis from OnSSI Adds Support for Intelligent Video Analysis Events from Bosch IP Devices

Our partnership with OnSSI has resulted in new integration capabilities with the Ocularis IP video surveillance and security platform. Ocularis 4.0 now supports Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA) events delivered from Bosch IP devices.

Embedded in many of our latest IP and HD cameras, IVA assists operators by alerting them when predefined alarms, such as loitering or line crossing, are triggered. Ocularis can receive these events from the Bosch IP device and integrate them into the system’s workflow. This ensures that IVA alerts reach the right people within the organization for proper handling.
“At Bosch, our focus is on creating intelligent IP video solutions that fit the needs of the customer, and this includes delivering advanced analytic capabilities embedded in our IP cameras,” said Brad Eck, Integration Manager, North America for Bosch. “With the ability to alert operators to activities that require their attention, IVA provides earlier detection of potential risks. Combining this technology with the event fusion capabilities of the Ocularis platform enables end users to more efficiently respond to incidents – enhancing overall safety and security.”
We work with OnSSI to continually enhance capabilities for mutual customers. Additional Bosch features already supported by the Ocularis platform include edge recording to prevent loss of video during network or server failures, intelligent Dynamic Noise Reduction to lower bit rates and therefore bandwidth and storage requirements for IP cameras, as well as multi-streaming, tamper and motion detection, and more.
“The integration between OnSSI’s intelligent VMS and Bosch cameras is one more positive step we are making in the move towards prevention,” said Moshe Levi, Product Manager, OnSSI.  "The earlier we can detect real-time threats, determine their risk level and enable response through the intelligent features of Ocularis and Bosch’s IVA, the more we can avert the occurrence of adverse incidents.”

New AUTODOME HD Cameras with starlight and dynamic Technology

We're bringing our proven starlight and dynamic technology to the AUTODOME IP 7000 HD family of high-speed PTZ domes. Whether capturing video in harsh sunlight or extreme low light, two new models of cameras provide round-the-clock protection regardless of lighting conditions. They ensure maximum image details are captured for traffic and transportation, industrial, government, city surveillance and many other applications faced with difficult lighting and moving objects indoors or out.

The new AUTODOME IP starlight 7000 HD cameras deliver HD video images in extreme low light situations and capture moving objects in 720p HD resolution at up to 60 frames per second. The latest sensor technology combined with sophisticated noise suppression results in a light sensitivity of 0.052 lux in color mode and even 0.0103 lux in monochrome mode.

The AUTODOME IP starlight 7000 HD produces full color images in the dark beyond the point where other cameras have turned to monochrome images. Where others show no image at all, the camera still delivers detailed monochrome images. Its ability to capture fast moving objects and excellent performance in extreme low light situations make the AUTODOME IP starlight 7000 HD ideal for securing parking lots or street corners, for example.

The AUTODOME IP dynamic 7000 HD camera features wide dynamic range and intelligent backlight compensation technology to ensure that moving objects or those of interest are enhanced and can be easily identified in scenes with simultaneously bright and dark areas, which typically challenge standard cameras.

To further improve the quality of IP video images, both cameras also feature intelligent de-fog technology to dynamically adjust camera contrast settings to deliver the best quality in areas affected by fog, smog, mist or other low contrast scenes.

Intelligent Video Analysis
Another differentiating feature of the AUTODOME IP 7000 HD family is built-in Intelligent Video Analysis (IVA). It helps to focus on relevant situations by alerting you when needed, or to automatically track objects of interest. IVA also adds sense and structure to video data through metadata. This allows quick retrieval of relevant images from hours of stored video. Metadata can also be used to optimize business processes based on people counting or crowd density information, for example. By using the camera’s ability to simultaneously combine 8 of the 15 available IVA rules, complex tasks are made easy and false alarms are reduced to a minimum.

Never lose track of objects of interest
In video surveillance, moving objects are usually the most significant objects of interest. Intelligent Tracking (iTracking) automatically tracks moving objects based on predefined alarm rules or a simple click. By intelligently distinguishing between single and multiple reference points, iTracking will provide uninterrupted tracking. Optimal capture of the object of interest is assured by dynamically adjusting the field of view. In addition, all AUTODOME IP 7000 HD models feature virtual masking technology. Virtual masks hide unwanted motion, such as swaying trees or pulsating lights, to improve the accuracy and performance of the cameras’ intelligent features without hiding areas from the video seen by the operator.

24/7 remote access and camera control
Limited bandwidth makes it impossible to stream HD video on mobile devices, whereas Dynamic Transcoding delivers both smooth live video streaming and instant access to HD (1080p) images when needed, regardless of available bandwidth. Combined with the Video Security app, users are allowed access to camera controls, live video streams and HD images via a mobile device anytime and from anywhere. It also enables you to instantly retrieve the correct video data from hours of recorded material. The new AUTODOME IP 7000 HD models are fully supported by Dynamic Transcoding in combination with either one of the Bosch DIVAR IP recording solutions or a Bosch VIDEOJET transcoder.

Lower storage costs and network strain
To reduce storage costs and network strain, the new AUTODOME IP starlight 7000 HD and AUTODOME IP dynamic 7000 HD cameras feature intelligent Dynamic Noise Reduction (iDNR). When there is little or no movement in the scene, less bitrate is required. Therefore, iDNR actively analyses the scene distinguishing between relevant information, such as moving objects, and image noise artifacts. The degree of noise reduction is adjusted accordingly so that important objects are captured and image noise artifacts suppressed, optimizing the camera’s bitrate. Thus, iDNR saves up to 50% on bitrate and hence storage and network strain without compromising video quality. Local storage on the camera further enhances network performance by compensating for short network outages, ensuring that video data is continuously available in Video Recording Manager (VRM) systems without breaks.

Dependable operation and easy installation
The AUTODOME IP 7000 HD family is available in an in-ceiling housing for areas where discrete installation is important or in a pendant version for indoor and outdoor applications. In-ceiling models feature IP54 and plenum ratings for added dust protection and the ability to mount the camera in areas used for air circulation for heating and air conditioning systems. Pendant models feature a tamper-resistant aluminum housing that is rated to IP66 and NEMA4X for uncompromised functionality even in wet environments – ensuring years of reliable performance. In addition, AUTODOME’s dual power supply design assures continuous coverage even if one power source fails.

With pre-terminated, color-coded wiring and a quick-connect system between the camera and mount, AUTODOME IP 7000 HD models are faster and simpler to install than other PTZ domes. Support for High Power over Ethernet also provides power directly to the camera without additional cabling.

Bosch IP standard-definition and high-definition cameras, encoders and analytics work seamlessly with a wide range of security software and recording solutions from Bosch and many other industry providers.
