New APE 3.4 goes way beyond locking and unlocking of doors. It allows a large number of functionalities from reception registration, badge registration and entrance control to entrance monitoring, alarm management and video verification.
Though the software solution has retained all of its functionality, its new interface offers a more streamlined, user-friendly experience as it reduces a variety of potentially distracting features by using a smaller range of colors. Other changes include a more efficient and faster updating and reducing of the number of outdated icons and toolbars to further facilitate navigation, while keeping the access control solution’s capabilities.
APE is a complete and comprehensive security solution as it can be integrated with other building management and security functions like elevator management and intrusion protection. It is also enabled for seamless integration into the Milestone XProtect video management software.
APE 3.4 is ideal for entry to midsized access control needs in industrial, commercial or retail buildings.

At the rate that video cameras are evolving, keeping track of an ever-growing amount of high-resolution video data is becoming even more challenging. In places like metro stations and airports where many cameras are needed, the burden on a workstation is very high. If a workstation is overloaded, the client application will often lag.
This is a great obstacle for security operators who need to view many cameras at once in order to maintain a complete and uninterrupted overview of a location, such as an airport terminal.
With the new BVMS 7.0, however, the user is able to keep multiple UHD (Ultra High Definition) cameras open without having to worry about slowing down the application. BVMS 7.0 uses the technology “streamlining”. This technology automatically shows the optimal video resolution on the screen. If an operator needs to view many cameras simultaneously, BVMS 7.0 automatically uses a lower-resolution stream. When enhanced pictures are required to zoom in or view on a full screen, for instance, a higher-resolution stream is automatically chosen. This feature uses the multi-stream capabilities available on Bosch IP video cameras and runs on existing workstations.
Another new feature of BVMS 7.0 is the encrypted communication between Bosch cameras and the Video Management System. A security manager can choose to encrypt all control communications and videos through a secure HTTPS connection, reducing the risk of the system being hacked.
BVMS 7.0 also offers customers an IT security guide, which explains how to set up a secure system. The document describes how to configure BVMS for Windows operating systems and how to secure video cameras against unauthorized access.

The CHAVE IP video solution delivers interoperable and interagency access to live and archived video surveillance by law enforcement and public safety agencies nationwide. As a result, CHAVE-enabled video systems are an allowable expense under the Urban Area Security Initiatives (UASI) grant program.
Using FIPS Publication 140-2 Level 3 certified encryption standards, the CHAVE cyber secure IP video solution implements full end to end encryption, removing the risk of interception, counter surveillance, image manipulation, and unauthorized viewing. This solution eliminates the use of user name and password combinations that can be compromised.
“Bosch takes cybersecurity very seriously. We have dedicated years of development effort to assure customers that our products are highly resilient to data security threats and attacks,” said Dan Reese, Director of Vertical Market Applications for Bosch.
“In the two years since receiving the STE Security Innovation Award in the Agency Security vertical market sector, Bosch and SecureXperts have continued to expand the CHAVE cyber secure IP video solution to not only include Genetec’s Security Center unified security platform, but to also include a weapons and explosives detection platform provided by MSA Security,” said Darnell Washington, President/CEO of SecureXperts. “These solutions will continue to evolve as we ensure that today’s technology meet stringent cyber security controls and interoperability mandated by U.S. federal and enterprise commercial applications.”
