We've introduced the latest version of our MIC Series ruggedized, high-speed pan-tilt-zoom cameras. The cameras now feature our standard AutoDome controller interface to make it easier to integrate the MIC Series into systems that already use Bosch surveillance products. The new controller also gives end users greater precision in their command of camera functions and optics.

MIC Series cameras capture high-resolution images in the harshest environments, including critical infrastructure, transportation and city center applications. The vandal and corrosion-resistant design includes an IP 68/NEMA 6P-rated aluminum casing with a long-life silicone wiper and reversible rain shield. The MIC Series 550 Day/Night and Infrared models provide uncompromised performance in the most challenging surveillance conditions.

The MIC Series cameras deliver 550 TVL resolution with 36x or 28x optical zoom for sharp images even at great distances. Their wide dynamic range easily adapts to changing light conditions, showing maximum detail in scenes with both bright and dark areas. And, a Sodium Vapor White Balance mode restores images of objects to their original color when affected by street or tunnel lamps.

The MIC Series 550 Infrared model features twin integrated, long-life LED infrared lamps that ensure clear illumination of the camera view up to 197 feet away in total darkness. The lamps are attached directly to the camera head to provide illumination exactly where it is needed.

All MIC Series cameras can be mounted upright, inverted or canted to
45 degrees, without the need for specialist tools and without compromising the IP rating. This capability simplifies project planning and provides increased installation flexibility.

New App for Remote Control of G Series Panels

We've launched the Remote Security Control app for the newest member of the G Series Control Panel family. Using the app, you can control GV4 panels designed for integrated intrusion, access control and fire alarm monitoring with an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad.

Delivering additional flexibility and convenience for customers, Remote Security Control allows system arming and disarming as well as controlling any connected outputs—including thermostats, lights, garage doors, and more. You can lock, unlock, cycle or secure doors within GV4 systems that include access control.

Remote Security Control works with GV4 panels that use the new Conettix B420 Ethernet Communication Module for wired IP communications. Conettix IP offers a high-speed, secure path for communication that also reduces costs.

Bosch supplies security technology for sports stadiums in South America

It is crucial for every sports stadium to have accurately designed emergency plans and advanced safety measurements in place. At two major South American arenas, we recently demonstrated which precautions should be taken to enable trouble-free sports competitions on a large scale.

Malvinas Argentinas Stadium
To mark the completion of the Copa America in 2011, the Malvinas Argentinas Stadium was overhauled. Its renovation included an enhancement of amenities and facilities, as well as a major update of the stadium’s safety technology. A total of 17 cameras, including Dinion and FlexiDome cameras with Intelligent Video Analysis, were placed at entrances, corridors and training rooms.

The video surveillance system is integrated into the Center of Strategic Operations of the city of Mendoza. Angel Pitton, head of the department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the Ministry of Mendoza says:

“We are now able to control the access of people to the stadium, detect crimes or unusual situations in real time and, crucially, give logistical support to security personnel. The link to Mendoza’s emergency center not only ensures prompt police services, but also the support of fire-fighters and medical emergency personnel.”

Hernán Ramírez Villegas stadium
Being one of the chosen venues to host the FIFA U-20 World Cup 2011, the Hernán Ramírez Villegas stadium in Pereira, Colombia, assigned Bosch to support the adaptation and modernization of the entire stadium according to the FIFA’s strict technical recommendations. A newly installed system now allows video monitoring, public voice messaging and the reproduction of anthems as well as audio playbacks from the stadium’s large screens.

To capture detailed images at all times, AutoDome PTZ and Dinion cameras were installed throughout the venue. In addition to the cameras, 700 Series recorders were also implemented. Furthermore, an extensive audio system ensures clear emergency messaging and PA announcements and can also be used for music.

New G Series Control Panels

We've introduced enhanced versions of the G Series Control Panels – integrated solutions for intrusion, access control and fire alarm monitoring. The new GV4 panels offer support for more users, faster performance, and enhancements that enable easier installation and system upgrades.

With four times the number of users as previous G Series systems, the control panels provide simpler programming and operation. GV4 panels support the assignment of individual passcodes, key fobs or other credentials for up to 1,000 people for easier implementation of security measures and faster user identification. This important feature opens up new installation opportunities, as the panels are now suitable for an even wider range of applications.

The panels also incorporate a new microprocessor to improve customer interaction with the system. The microprocessor delivers faster keypad responses when operating the panel and integrating to other systems. Operating at 96MHz, it is the fastest processor in this class of control panels.

Multiple communicators, including the new Conettix B420 Ethernet Communication Module, allow for dual, simultaneous, wired IP and cellular communications to help meet a wide variety of customer requirements and to reduce costs. New Single Channel Encoder

The VIP X1 XF E is a standalone, single channel high-performance video encoder. It features DVD-like quality H.264 video, at up to 4CIF/30 images per second, over IP networks. This unit supports PAL and NTSC sources. The encoder provides basic motion+ detection and bidirectional audio communication in parallel to video.

The VIP X1 XF E provides two independent H.264 Main Profile streams. In addition to the two H.264 streams, the VIP X1 XF E supports one JPEG stream. It also allows controlling of cameras via RS-232/422/485.

New Moving Camera for the Advantage Line

We've added the first moving camera to the Advantage Line. The VEZ-400 mini PTZ camera offers features more typically found in larger PTZ domes. Among these are a 26x optical zoom for an increased monitoring range and easier identification of objects and people.

The camera provides 360 degrees of rotation, 600 TVL high resolution imaging, and a wide dynamic range to capture all the important details in scenes with both bright and dark areas. Day/night functionality delivers round-the-clock performance for retail shops, schools and small-to mid-sized corporate offices, among other applications.

The VEZ-400 measures just 4.4 inches in diameter, making it less than half the size of traditional PTZ cameras as well as 20% smaller than most other minidomes. The compact size allows it to fit well into limited space and makes it ideal for discrete surveillance.

Available in charcoal or white, the camera is designed for indoor or outdoor applications. New Video Software Development Kit with Support for HD Cameras

We've released a new version of our software development kit – Video SDK 5.11. This latest release includes support for our 720p and 1080p high definition (HD) cameras as well as tools to make software development easier.

Consisting of a library of reusable software components, the Video SDK can be utilized by other industry providers to integrate a wide range of Bosch IP devices under a single object application programming interface. Supported Bosch devices include HD and standard definition (SD) cameras, encoders and decoders, as well as the 700 Series recorders.

Features of Video SDK 5.11 include network device detection, live video rendering from multiple HD or SD devices including in-window pan/tilt/zoom control, as well as live and playback audio rendering, among other capabilities. This release also includes sample code to make software development easier.

Recording Station Appliance Provides Easy Management of HD Video

New Request-to-exit Detectors

We've introduced new enhancements to the popular DS150i and DS160 Request-to-exit Detectors to ensure their performance continues to exceed the rigorous demands of their applications. Improvements in the design of the products have resulted in a 40% increase in reliability—helping to reduce service calls once the detectors are installed.

The detectors also include built-in spike protection, which eliminates the need to add a separate module to prevent significant voltage spikes on the relay contact. This feature, along with the use of dip switches that make configuration easier and a new auto-sensing 12 to 24 volt voltage regulator, reduces installation complexity—improving efficiency in the field.

Sound output has also been increased through the implementation of a more effective sounder and circuit design. This allows you to increase the volume by more than 10% over previous models to fit individual needs and preferences.

700 Series Hybrid Recorders Now Supported by Genetec

The 700 Series Hybrid Recorders are now supported by the latest versions of Genetec’s Omnicast 4.8 and the soon to be released Security Center 5.1. This integration allows you to view live and recorded standard definition video from the 700 Series recorders within the Omnicast and Security Center user interfaces. We've launched another version of our popular high performance dome camera—the FlexiDome 2X Day/Night IP camera with a six to 50 millimeter lens. The new model is one of a few dome cameras to feature such a long telephoto lens, providing outstanding depth of field and keeping more of the scene in focus. You can easily recognize objects up close, such as a person walking through a doorway, and capture images of long indoor corridors or sidewalks alongside the exterior of a building.

The cameras feature 2X-Dynamic Technology with 20-bit processing—twice the power of conventional cameras—to deliver unparalleled image quality in all lighting conditions. The unique combination of 2X-Dynamic and wide dynamic range sensors enables the cameras to reveal more than is visible with the human eye alone—analyzing images pixel-by-pixel to produce the most detailed view of scenes with difficult lighting.
